With Halloween just a few weeks away, I thought I'd start a thread for anyone interested in Halloween doings in and around your area.

Below are a few of the things going on in my area (northern NJ/NY area).

The Great Jack O'Lantern Blaze: I saw this last year, going again this year. Very cool if you like jack o'lanterns.

https://www.hudsonvalley.org/content/view/195/198/

Chiller Theatre Expo: anyone who grew up in the 60's/70's and had a TV(at least on the east coast) should be familiar with this.

http://www.chillertheatre.com/main.htm

Turner Classic Movies: if you like old/classic movies and are a fan of horror, this is your month. 10/31 is an all day fest, but also every Friday night/overnight.

http://www.tcm.com/schedule/index.jsp?s ... =EST&cid=N

I'll add more later.......

We do this every year (since they began it). It's very near where we live and it's grown over time. For anyone who is within an hour or so of the area, I highly recommend it. The grounds are Van Cortlandtville Manor, one of several historical sites in the area open to the public, and worth visiting even when it isn't covered with thousands of jack-o-lanterns.

This is the traditional stop for my kids, cousins, brother, and nephews. This isn't a day of event, but an annual haunt all the same.

Not only is this my demographic, but how can you not love something that gathers under one roof Seka, Peter Criss, Traci Lords, Leif Garret and Tom Sizemore, among other luminaries? :D

We got our tickets for the Evil Dead Musical http://www.evildeadthemusical.com/ on 10/29. Unfortunately, all the splatter zone seats were sold out. Still, shoudl be fun even if we don't get messy.

I'm not a fan of getting messy, so no. But I still had a great time...

There is a party at the fire hall. I will probably come in second place in the costume contest. Again.

I felt a great disturbance...as if millions of seeds suddenly cried out in terror and were suddenly silenced. I fear something terrible has happened

And tonight I shall be seeing it in Reading, PA...

I'm interested to see how a local community theatre will handle all the animatronics and blood... Hopefully the sound system is good
