Is it just me or does "Under the Dome" suck?

It wasn't awesome, but it was something new to watch over the summer.
Then again, I'd watch Rachelle Lefevre read out of a phone book. Afterall, I've watched 3 different shows now because she was in them.

I'm with Bats, here. UTD wasn't my favorite Stevie the K novel to start with, so I had pretty low expectations. Mr. B and I watched one episode and then....just kinda never got around to watching the others that we'd DVR'd. Eventually we just deleted it.
(otoh, I'm eagerly awaiting my copy of Doctor Sleep which Amazon informs me shipped today. A friend who got a review copy was suitably engrossed and scared by it. )

They seem to be killing off all the good background chars in the show.

It was okay as a summer show - if it started now I doubt it would make the cut.

I would probbaly have enjoyed it enough if it was the short summer series that it was supposed to be. But when they turned it into an ongoing series they diluted it and confused it too much. And it just pissed me off in the end.

:green: I was a little confused when they started advertising "end of season one". I thought is was going to be a mini-series. Isn't that really the best film format for King's works?

It seems like multiple times in each episode I'm rolling my eyes and muttering, "Oh, for fuck's sake." I think the bit that inspired that post was how quickly the situation turned from riot to community-spirited water gathering when the rain started.

I'm not even sure which characters are the good background characters besides Jeff Fahey. Personally, I don't care who dies. Also, I'm embarrassed for Dean Norris. He went from one of the best shows of all time - OF ALL TIME, Taylor - and joined up with this rancid turd.

Every show should have a main action hero called Barbie

(I actually don't mind it. It has that Haven kind of feel, and at least it's made by a company who won't just cancel it and make me go f*cking mad)

I watch shows more now based on the likelihood of them not being cancelled lol

Well you chose a bad one.
This was not meant to be more than an eight episode mini-series... so many people watched it they strectched the first season out and got stupid.

And then they make a second season where they admit that they have no fucking clue where they are going with it.

The first episode this season (which was where I stopped watching) kills off the main character from the book and then literally ax murders another. What?!

The ratings are bombing... this will be it's last season.

But I agree that Barbie is pretty awesome

Fwiw, the book series Gone (which takes place under a dome) is still awesome.

Hope to see a TV series of that soon (whilst at the same time hoping not, as they'll make some quasi Twilight suckfest).

FWIW Twilight may have been more fun if it included some actual sucking.
