Somewhat surprised that there was not already a thread for this show, despite its age.

Apparently a revival is in the works - at least 6 episodes worth:

I've been rewatching this series on Netflix. My fiancee is watching as well, though it's the first time through for her.

I'd heard that this was a possibility, but that article just got me excited. Awesome to be a mini-series kind of event, and not a reboot.
Can't wait!!

Seriously awesome.....about time. Have most seasons starting with 1 on DVD. Time to dust them off.

If anyone remembers the episode "Home" (reminiscent of The Hills Have Eyes), one of the new episodes in the mini-series is supposedly titled "Home Again"

My wife and I have made it through all 9 seasons (Netflix), and both movies as they fit in the series, before the end of 2015.
We are currently going through the 13 episode run of The Lone Gunmen.

Just 9 more days before the mini-series airs!!!

This is one show I could never get into. Had like 2 great episodes a season but a lot of rubbish.
I watched the pilot again the other day and it is awful!!!
Will watch the new one tho.

anybody watched it?????

I thought the first episode was just OK. The second episode, however, felt like classic X Files.

My wife and I were glued to the screen both nights. Fortunately we checked the DVR while the first episode was recording and set the recording to extend 30 minutes.

I really hate that new programming is scheduled after broadcast sport events. It never ends well.

So glad to hear your opinion of episode 2 as I have not watched it yet, but I found the first one really disappointing and poorly approached. It felt very rushed, and I didn't feel like it was well written at all.

I'm looking forward to the rest of it however, as a huge fan of the original series at least through about the 5th season.

And Dawson, tsk! There were definitely one or two disappointing episodes each season, countered by a few brilliant episodes each season, but the overall arc stories were always captivating, at least until the first movie or so. Then things started spiraling out of control and the train left the rails for me. Brilliant support characters (CSM, Mr. X, Deep Throat, Krycek and Skinner) and fantastic guest star appearances (Charles Nelson Reilly, Peter Boyle, Jesse Ventura and Alex Trebek... and my favorite: Ashlyn Gere) complimented some really good writing. In my opinion, this and Twin Peaks changed television and paved the way for many of the great shows that followed.

Sorry!!!
I love twin peaks. And deadwood. And loads. Just couldn't get into this.
I will persist though. Not from season one. I'll just watch the new ones.

Second episode was classic for sure. Mulder's humor and everything. I hope they bring it back beyond the six episodes.

as I'm a day or two behind, I must stay out of here for fear of spoilers. Liked part I of the first episode, but hoping the remaining get better.

 sorry had to drop out after the "eyes out of head" comment...didn't want to see too much into Monday's episode.

Pretty much agree with most comments so far, first episode seemed a little too rushed. Joel McHale's paranoia even gave me a headache. Monday's episode was very classic (especially eye-popping scene). Really hope this goes past 6 episodes.

PS: I'll try to keep up now

:green: From the title of the episode all the way to the end credits.

"Home Again" is next week; a sorta sequel to the creepy inbred episode "Home"

Do I need to watch the original series or is this a standalone?

(I actually think I saw home)

Unless you watched it on it's original airing you probably didn't.
Unless you own the DVDs... they stopped airing that one in repeats cuz it was...
Kinda... ew.

I saw some of the originals. The chimney bendy guy in season one. Just didn't watch religiously like some shows.
Will give the new season a go tho :)

Edit: ok. Saw the first episode and that was possibly the worst thing I have ever seen. Made under the dome look intelligent.
